Finding Bricks In LDD
« on: November 24, 2012, 05:48:11 pm »
Okay, yeah, it's much easier to find bricks in LDD than in real life, but I can't help but notice how there's a distinct lack of any real sorting method, when you can find some bricks that SHOULD be in one certain section, in a totally different section. So, uh, is there a better method to find bricks, if you don't know the precise LDD name yet, because you haven't found the part at all yet?

Finding pieces in LDD can be a bugger, I know how you feel, just today I was looking for one a ski track piece and I figured it would be under minifigs or accessories but it ended up being somewhere totally different.

one method that can help a little is to use the search tool, while it lacks greatly if you at least know some characteristics of the brick it can sometimes help, like for instance, searching the word "pin" would come up with anything with a pin connection, or searching "clip" would result in clips coming up. and if that doesn't work I usually resort to going through the entire thing :P
~these are not the bricks your looking for~

I was looking for the robot hands from Exo Force(Or the arms, or both. I know I had to find both at one point); and they were in exactly the opposite place you'd expect, in with pins or something. Made me go 'now why are they THERE?'

Unfortunately my experience here consists of vague memories, but I've never had any problems with finding bricks. I haven't had the chance to play with the new versions though, due to my computer not opening it for whatever reason.
