Project B.U.I.L.D. – Looking for builders
Posted by cdmpants on November 26, 2012 At The Luprechaun

Hello, everyone! Hollis here. It’s been some time since I’ve spoken to any of you. Zipblock invited me here after LU closed, and I’ve been following this blog ever since, but I haven’t had anything interesting to write about until now.

Since LU closed, I’ve been working on a LEGO game project, Project B.U.I.L.D. I’m the “Director” so to speak, overseeing development and making sure everyone is doing their job. I also do most of the animating, modeling, and world development.

I was wondering if anyone here would like to help out with building LEGO models for the game. If you were to join, you would be building in LEGO Digital Designer, and eventually BrickBUILD, which is our own building system. Also, until BrickBUILD is finished, your models would have to be simple and small, as our current brick library is small, and we’ll have to “build” the models over again within Blender (a 3D modeling package) using the bricks we currently have, which is not easy.

Here are some pictures of what we have so far.

Test world I made a few weeks ago

If anyone is interested, please contact me at projectbuild.contact@gmail.com, or click here (http://brickbuild.weebly.com/chat.html,) make a Chatroll account, and we can talk further.

If you are looking to help us out in ways other than building, check out the join (http://brickbuild.weebly.com/join.html) page on our website. Keep in mind Project B.U.I.L.D. is entirely non-profit; we do not pay our members.

That looks great, though I'm not sure if Blender's engine would be the best. Making a new engine would be too hard though.

I might join in with a few models, if I can get LDD working.

Blender's Game Engine works better than you might think; since it's Physics Engine is the bullet engine, and the main engine has Python capabilities. It works very well, as I can attest to, although my knowledge is still lacking in that, compared to others.
