Yeah, after posting that I started looking myself and couldn't find anything that worked properly...

Google and YouTube. :P The Blender Wiki has some good information, but it's often hard to understand. I think the Blenderartists forum may be good, though I'm not a member so I can't say for sure.

I have been using Blender for movies and games for quite a while now. If anyone needs help, I'll be glad to give as much advice as I can.

About the LDraw: I found some stuff using Google, but it all seems to be made for older versions of Blender (I didn't actually try any of them, though). Alternatively, you could try to look for something that converts from .lxf to some format Blender can import - like .3ds, or .obj
