I finally got the last Bricklink order I needed to build this. I present the W5 Hailstorm Walker!

W5 Hailstorm Walker by MaverickDengo, on Flickr

This description from my Flickr stream:

The W5 Hailstorm is a walker I have been working on for quite a while. Like pretty much all of my other projects, I built it in LEGO Digital Designer first and then bought the parts to build it in real life.

I had wanted to build some kind of mech or walker for a long time, so I started messing around with ideas for feet. Once I came up with the three-toed feet, I moved on to the legs and then ended up running out of enthusiasm. Over a few months, I attempted to build the body several times, but never managed to make much progress. I just didn't have any ideas.

What got me motivated to finish this model was my brother building a sweet little mech. That's one of the neat things about having a twin; It's almost a competition to see who can build the coolest stuff. So after he finished his mech, I had to respond with something awesome. After months of not building anything I liked, I finally came up with what you see here. I have to say I'm very happy with how it turned out.

I hope you guys like it!

Thanks for the advice! I'm definitely trying to pursue a career that makes me happy (working for LEGO maybe?).
That new sand crawler looks okay, but I don't know if I'm all that interested in getting it. That LEGO game looks cool, I haven't really seen or read much about it.

I'm just working on my two year degree right now. I'm not exactly sure what kind of career I want to go into.
Interesting articles by the way. I went to BrickCon last October, and there was a very rambunctious speaker who spoke about 3D printing. It was a very interesting speech... Except for the part where he made fun of LU for being cancelled :/

It's been such a long time since I visited this site! I got a job and I started college, so all my time is being sucked away. Yay for coffee!
What's everyone here been up to lately?

The TARDIS is now on CUUSOO! by MaverickDengo, on Flickr

Hey guys! It's been a while since I posted on here.

Do you like Doctor Who? Do you like LEGO? What if you could have them together? I would like to present to you, the Large-Scale TARDIS!

I would love to have sets based on this series, and I'm sure there are many others who would love to own sets based on this theme as well. There are a lot of great TARDIS Models on CUUSOO, but most of the smaller ones use stickers for major details, and the larger ones don't seem as good as they could be. Because of this, I have uploaded my own version. It would be a large detailed set, probably in the $100 price range, and It would be a great model for displaying.

You can support it here: lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/59234

If you like this set, I would really appreciate any support you guys can give! Please share it with as many people as you know! The more people who know about It, the more likely it will reach 10,000 supporters!

Nice job! I love the hazmat suit minifigs. I'm excited for the new white one that's coming in one of the ultra agents sets.

That stinks. :( on the bright side you don't have to feel the package to find out which minifigs it is. Maybe you could even get them to discount them.
